Hi Shawn Tomkin, I have been playing on in my solo campaign and will post when I get a chance. One thought I had was around the low magic setting of the Ironlands. I am a massive Lord of the Rings fan so the low magic, dangerous journey setting of the Ironlands appeals but as I play through it I was thinking of adding magic items, artifacts, etc. for added flavor. In LOTR, magic is a rare and wondrous thing and even Gandalf uses it sparingly. However, there are lots of "magic" swords, armor, rings, orbs, etc.. Basically the magic items add a lot of magic flavor to an otherwise very real world medieval setting. Just wondering if you have any thoughts on how to do magic items Ironsworn style.

Ok, here is my first play report.

Ok, here is my first play report. Beginning of Moriens quest to journey through the Ironlands to become a Mystic / Ritualist. All art is copyright of their owners. Turns out soloing is more fun for me when I can visualise the game. I am sure I am making mistakes but so far I am loving Ironsworn. Hi Shawn

Hi Shawn, I am starting a solo play. I am using the default preview setting/assets, etc.. I found something strange as part of character creation that I wanted to run by you. I am coming from a D&D 5e background and perhaps I have missed something about Ironsworn and am incorrectly looking at this through that perspective in which case I look forward to learning the Ironsworn way of doing all this. I am creating a brains over brawn character who has a high wits stat (+3) and medium heart and Iron (+2) and low shadow and edge (+1). So far so good. When it came to adding assets I put myself in character and thought ok, as someone with wits what would I be attracted to? This is where I noticed that the ability stats don't seem to be balanced across assets. In the martial assets only archer uses wits but there are 3 martial assets that use Iron. Only long-arm uses edge and only cutthroat uses shadow. I guess the intent is to make Iron the primary stat for martial assets and ...
