I introduced my wife to Mad Max: Fury Road not long ago and it occurred to me that Ironsworn would be a very good system for mimicking adventures in the Post-Apocalyptic Wasteland. As always, thank you Shawn Tomkin for giving us such a wonderfully adaptable system. Accordingly, I've jotted down some ideas in the form of character creation, some thoughts on rule modifications for the setting, and a few asset ideas. This might be a one-off idea or I might continue writing it (as if I didn't have enough projects going on anyway). Any thoughts, comments, ideas, or charges of heresy would of course be welcome. 0 - Escape from the Wastes https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Z0aUwt1iTaLAwFNipQevgjVZuvcShq4v

+18 CUSTOM ASSETS

+18 CUSTOM ASSETS Disclosure: 1. All these assets are heavily inspired by the Dungeon World official moves. 2. I changed the Rituals tag to Skills. Personal preference, in my version of the Ironlands, I don't play with the mysticism. That also gave me more freedom when setting the fictional framing for each of them. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1N9m5YsxnGWp-Mm1mEVnEMneBXyx-24-3mGGD6TrHhjY/edit?usp=sharing Feel free to comment on them. ENDEAVORS

ENDEAVORS • When you make a move, you can burn X momentum to add +X to the roll if you have the upgrade of the endeavor required for said bonus. • Endeavors can be upgraded up to three times, and are listed in a sheet attached to the character sheet in this format: Face Danger +edge: +1 +2 +3. IRONCRUNCH

IRONCRUNCH https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RPTJ76WJzM3rxemUc7EfG74fr7mXQ6knZEEGG4mzbFA/edit?usp=sharing An attempt to make Ironsworn more crunchy, taking the best out of Dungeon World with some twists.

If you like the idea of taking your character on a quest for redemption, here's an asset I'd like to include in volume 3. You may only add this to your character once you have Forsaken a Vow, so it's not accessible for starting characters. Your reputation as an oath-breaker and your own self-doubts will add hardship to your struggles, so this asset counts as a debility. It will reduce your max momentum and reset. But, there's a big reward at the end of your quest. Work-in-progress, so feedback is welcome. One other custom asset I made for a sci-fi setting (literally can't wait for the official release, haha!) It is essentially the Wyvern asset with minor tweaks to wording and the stat used for the bottom perk. Icon taken from the Wayfinder asset.

EDIT: I created an updated version that some might think is better down in the comment chain.

EDIT: I created an updated version that some might think is better down in the comment chain. Someone in my group wanted to be a shapeshifter so I created this card to give it some gameplay value instead of just narrative. I merged and modified the existing Pretender and Bind cards (I used the icon from Rider since it seemed the most fitting). I haven't play tested it yet but considering it is based on existing assets, I don't expect it to have any real balance problems. I don't know if it truly fits in with Ironsworn lore since it seems most "magic" is based around rituals and not inherent traits but my story is not based in the Ironsworn world so this may be useful for anyone who is doing something similar and wants a shapeshifter. Feel free to use this and let me know your thoughts!

Hey there!

Hey there! I want to put the 7th Sea sorcery assets into cards but I'm very bad for editing, so in the meanwhile, I want to present you with the first of the sorcery assets I converted to Ironsworn: Porté. Porté might be familiar to those who know the setting, but for those who don't, it's like this. Porté consists in marking objects (nothing you wouldn't be able to carry with yourself) with a single drop of your blood, and then spilling another drop of blood again in order to open a portal to grab them. Porté also lets the caster open a deep wound on their skin in order to open bigger portals that let them cross to any place they've previously marked with their blood; not only this can cause great harm and pain, but also, they risk madness or being lost forever, as what's in between the portals is unknown and not very nice (you have to cross with eyes closed and ignore the noises). So, here's Porté: SORCERY ASSET PORTÉ When you mark an object with a drop of...

Episode 3 of my solo Actual Plays led me to add some notes to my homebrew Domain Asset about how to treat the Domain’s Troops as a Companion. I decided to give the troops 5 Health (like a Horse Companion) when “some unspecified number of them” accompany the lord into an adventure. They can then take harm and if that band of troops gets killed, the security rating of the domain is reduced by 1. https://igm4u.com/f/ironsworn-pendragon-actual-plays https://igm4u.com/f/ironsworn-pendragon-actual-plays

I’ve come up with a way to simulate running a domain (in preparation for trying a Great Pendragon Campaign using Ironsworn Solo). I haven’t playtested it yet but would welcome some feedback... Ironsworn Domains ASSET: DOMAIN When you are a Thane, in command of a domain.. You gain a Domain with two attributes – Security & Prosperity (5 ranks to split between the two attributes). I suggest you use an Index card and put the tracks along two edges and mark them with paperclips. The mechanical benefit for owning a Domain is that it becomes a community you can Sojourn in that automatically counts as though you have a Bond with it. Also, when you perform a Sojourn, on a strong hit you can add supply equal to the Domain’s Prosperity and on a weak hit you can restore your supply to the same level as the domain’s Prosperity You may make one of the following Annual Moves at the end of Autumn as a Scene Challenge (Scene Challenges are an optional rule from the end of the Ironsworn rulebook), ...

Hey again guys!

Hey again guys! Getting stuff ready to play my "Antiguo y Colosal" Ironsworn game, taking a young rebel from the Little People tribe, an unexperiences wannabe warrior, to find his way in life, fight for the future of his people, and defeat some colossi. But for this he will need a trusty Ancient Beast, the first asset he will try to gain through a quest. I'm trying to make a custom companion asset grabbing bits and pieces of other pre made assets and mixing some of my ideas, I need some feedback! My character's Ancient Beast is an Akhlut, some sort of land killer whale. It combines parts of the Hound and Wyvern Asset plus a new custom advantage. COMPANION ASSET AKHLUT *Swift Swimmer: When you Undertake a Journey through places largely covered by water, add +1 *Ferocious: When you Strike or Clash alongside your Akhlut and score a hit, inflict +1 harm or take +1 momentum. *Insatiable: Insatiable: When you Undertake a Journey and score a hit, you may suffer -1 supply in ...

What do you think of these two Assets... FLAW: COWARDICE & PATH: PRIEST... FLAW:COWARDICE This counts as a new Debility, reducing maximum momentum by 1. In exchange, when you Face Danger or Suffer Harm when running or riding away or cowering from a threat... O Runner add +1 and take +1 momentum. (+2 momentum if this endangers an ally or companion) O Dodger: When you Clash add +1, but do no harm on a weak hit O Groveler. When you use Compel to grovel and beg for mercy, add +1 and take +1 momentum. I started thinking about introducing a second character into my solo dark age britain game and looked through the list of people Valgrym had already met. One was a Prior - I decided he went into the Church in order to hide because of his misdeeds and is not a true believer. The idea of an Asset that is a Flaw appealed to me. If you are familiar with the Flashman books by George McDonald Frazier, you'll recognise the character type I was going for. PATH: PRIEST @ When you Sojourn i...

This is a proposed Asset for my Dark Ages setting in which the realm of Faerie contains many dark and dangerous creatures who might bring harm to Mortals. The setting is influenced by Poul Anderson's novel, The Broken Sword. The denizens of Faerie are repelled by Iron and this spell can be cast using the dust from a blacksmith's workshop. I'll probably create a version of it using Holy Water too as Christianity has a similar effect. I've made Faerie Ward quite dangerous to cast, unless you have high Spirit. I'd probably make Holy Ward be much less dangerous to use - perhaps Endure Stress (1 spirit) To see some of my Actual Plays in this setting https://igm4u.com/f/ironsworn-actual-play-reports

I meant to share these a while ago, but only just got around to setting up a proper PDF with card-backs for them.

I meant to share these a while ago, but only just got around to setting up a proper PDF with card-backs for them. Four custom assets created with feedback from the stellar Ironswron Discord server, and an extra special shout out to Justin Gordon who co-authored the Bear companion. It's three new companions: Bear, Harrow Spider (my favorite), and Phantom (probably the poorest of the bunch). Also one custom combat talent in the form of the Slinger. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ntgskhz80xkzfie/AADKiw4v9toPlDeRp8blhY-La?dl=0 I'd really appreciate some feedback on these, as well as suggestions for more custom assets. Also, if you end up using any these in your Ironsworn games let me know, I'd love to hear about it. Edit: The wording for the "venomous" move on the harrow spider has been updated to make its function more clear. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ntgskhz80xkzfie/AADKiw4v9toPlDeRp8blhY-La?dl=0

I've been tooling around with modified assets for a Witcher.

I've been tooling around with modified assets for a Witcher. This is what I've come up with so far and I'd appreciate any feedback, incites, or thoughts the community might have.

I prefer a more urban/intrigue-based campaign than Ironsworn is currently set up for.

I prefer a more urban/intrigue-based campaign than Ironsworn is currently set up for. In order to do that, I felt the focus needed to shift away from journeys towards relationships. I wanted something that could emulate a slow-building Jane Austen-style courtship so I replaced the Bond mechanic with something closer to Undertaking a Journey and Reach Your Destination. I also tried to make the moves capable of modeling friendships and not just romance. The new mechanics engage with two new character types, Your Esteemed (the character you are trying to form a meaningful relationship with) and Your Rival (the character opposing you). Your Rival gets a progress track of their own (it indicates the strength of their relationship with Your Esteemed). If the Rival's track ever fills up completely, you must immediately succeed at Challenging your Rival to delay their bond from becoming permanent, forever destroying your chances. This is the first time I’ve ever tried to hack an rpg and I...

Hi !

Hi ! So... where do I start ? Hum... ok. Well, yesterday I was quite a bit hyped with how to make a "Sling" asset. I have to admit that it is my ultmost defeat. Like a pair of 10 on the challenge dices and a crappy 1 on the action die. I just can't fathom how to balance a "combat talent". But, in my pathetic attempt to make it, I envisionned some other assets. I submit them there to get the help of the community at making them more balanced, smooth or "ironswornable". BLOOD-MADNESS (RAGE/BERSERKER/… ?) When Wounded … O Clouded by your murderous intents. When you Strike or Clash, you inflict +1 harm. In this state, if you win, you do not spare your foe. O Pain feels good … When you Endure Harm gain +1 momentum, if you are also Maimed gain +2 instead. O You become blinded by your rage. You cannot choose Face Danger or Secure an Advantage in combat, when you Strike or Clash, add+1 and take +1 momentum on a hit. TRAPPING O When you make a trap Secure an A...
