What about changing the wording of a vow after it's made? Or even changing the substance of it?

What about changing the wording of a vow after it's made? Or even changing the substance of it? I'm not talking about me as the player ret-conning what I thought. But imagine a situation where the original vow clearly can't be completed, and yet there is some reason in the fiction to suggest that maybe all is not lost. Here is my example from play: My character makes a relatively minor vow to an NPC to help him with a dangerous task. Not even all that dangerous really. In fact, I debated whether it should even count as an Iron Vow. Anyway, the dice and the oracles got very brutal, even giving me the Action/Theme phrase "Depart Ally" at one point. It eventually became clear that all the leads were pointing to one thing. The NPC was not long for this world. So when he died, my first thought is to go immediately to the Forsake a Vow move. However, in the fiction, the NPC had a dying request, which basically amounted to not wanting to be left behind in thi...

Pretty minor changes in this week's Ironsworn update. Perhaps that is a good sign? Or is it a bad one? Most of my week was spent wrestling with the POD version and redoing images for the proper bleeds (I am an idiot). Changes in this update include a few more typos getting squashed and some very minor adjustments to the wording of a couple of moves and assets. The most helpful change is that the PDF page numbers will now match the book page numbers. Thanks to Mark Plemmons for his helpful article on that topic. Thank you also to those who reported an issue via the feedback form this week. Just ran my first game of Ironsworn last night and it went really really well!

Just ran my first game of Ironsworn last night and it went really really well! I was impressed by the way the mechanics created an exciting, seamless narrative -- journeying was fun and the players got really involved in the fiction. In terms of PbtA games, this is definitely one of my new favorites. The highly mechanical nature of the game, though, does feel a little punishingly snowball-y -- which was something that I thought momentum would help correct, but actually it seemed to have the opposite effect. One of my players failed a few moves and managed to get negative momentum, and the failures snowballed from there: action dice were cancelled, when he finally got up to 0 momentum he kept on failing rolls he actually cared about, and without having any momentum he couldn't fix the problem. I thought momentum would give him the opportunity to get out of the hole of bad rolling, but actually it just made it a lot worse. Is that how the system is supposed to function? What should a...

Any thoughts on this approach for a blank Ironsworn oracles worksheet?

Any thoughts on this approach for a blank Ironsworn oracles worksheet? I can obviously get pretty complex with every permutation of the odds and the number of items, but this keeps it pretty simple. There are two each of: 1) Blank oracle for 10 items with even odds 2) Blank oracle with 10 items on a scale from least likely to most likey 3) Fill in your own numbers/items Blank oracles can be useful to get less abstract answers for your current situation. For example, if you are on a journey you might brainstorm some potential waypoints specific to your setting or region. Or, you can write down some potential threats and use the table if you score a miss on a journey roll. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Hey, I have recently found this gem of a game, and wanted to play it.

Hey, I have recently found this gem of a game, and wanted to play it. Is anyone up for a one on one game with me as a GM through rolegate.com ? It is for asynchronous online play, I would be able to reply at least once every day, probably more, I'm looking for someone with a similar schedule.

So I just discovered this game and I'm moderately in love.

So I just discovered this game and I'm moderately in love. I hope to do a solo campaign borrowing Dungeon World's Perilous Wilds to make my own hexcrawl Ironlands (I have to reread Perilous Wilds to make sure it's a good fit first!) Is there any attempt by the community to collect all the fan-made Assets? Because that'd be awesome. Edit: So with some work a lot of Perilous Wilds will complement Ironbound quite nicely.

Shawn Tomkin: concerning oracles: I hope you will relocate the oracles at the end of the corebook for ease of reference? (also, please don't forget to put up the blank oracles. useful!)

Shawn Tomkin I've started translating the core book to Spanish as a way of practicing my own linguistic skills.

Shawn Tomkin I've started translating the core book to Spanish as a way of practicing my own linguistic skills. It's going to be a long project, but it'll be worth it. Translating the table of contents was definitely a good exercise! So far, I've managed to get everything up to page 23, just before the "Oracle rolls" section. I must admit I admire your writing skills! Following your ideas is easy and enjoyable. Also, the level of detail you've added to the book is fantastic! By focusing on translating I've been able to see Ironsworn from a new perspective. I'm using markdown conventions for the format of titles, lists, etc. which is why I'm linking StackEdit. In case anyone wants to have a look at it, I'll be updating the file from here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FBPLYTgs2cnrfi_uyHQJEQDG-RJrWcOT2d5iFllG6iA/edit?usp=sharing https://stackedit.io/app#

Amara reaches her destination.

Amara reaches her destination. The journey was long (also in terms of real-world-time: it lasted 5 sessions and began four weeks ago) and difficult (for the characters only). It was extremely interesting and it ended well.... https://solounmondodicarta.wordpress.com/2018/04/27/amara-of-whitebridge-12-varena-and-purena/ https://solounmondodicarta.wordpress.com/2018/04/27/amara-of-whitebridge-12-varena-and-purena/

Hi, I have some questions about the game mechanics:

Hi, I have some questions about the game mechanics: 1. Are Challenge Ranks set in stone or flexible (apart from the special situation on the miss of Fulfill your vow/Reach your destination moves)? For instance, when I fight against a band of raiders that collectively are Formidable and manage to kill some of them, should the Challenge Rank turn to Dangerous or not? 2. What happens if I am marked or haunted and before I finish the quest to get rid of this burden, I score a weak hit on Face Death/Face Desolation move once again? Am I automatically dead/broken, or can I take yet another quest? 3. If I have a bond with a person or community, and this person dies or community is destroyed, should I remove this bond? I guess so, but I’m not entirely sure. “Add +1 if you shared a bond” part in the Communion Ritual description is quite ambiguous in this matter. 4. If I try to assassinate someone with a dagger using Face Danger move as in this blog post https://ironsworndiaries.blogspot.com/201...

Hi all!

Hi all! I just found out about this game a couple of days ago and it seems to be truly amazing! It might actually be that I've found my Holy grail when it comes to solo tapletop games - thanks for that Shawn! :) Now to my question; have anyone of you tried using the Inkarnate map creator for Ironsworn? It seems to be the perfect tool for digitaly recording your journey on a map, as you can update and edit it as you go along on your adventure and new information is unraveled. I'm thinking about creating an Ironlands template sometime in the future, but wouldn't mind skipping the hassle if there's already a template out there...

Hail again fellow Sworn. I have another question for you all. It is as thus: I am confused by Pay the Price. This is primarily in the area of combat with a creature. Say I miss and suffer the Pay the Price. Does this mean I suffer harm and Pay the Price or how does that work? I know there is a table for rolling on in Pay the Price, but I can't really figure out how one might suffer harm. Hope that made sense. Peace out and thanks!

I always liked the idea of an alchemist type of character.

Image
I always liked the idea of an alchemist type of character. Someone that doesn't fight with your typical sword and bow, but with acids, bombs, fire and smoke. I was thinking how to implement him into the world. An idea is that they are the exact opposite of a Herbalist. While herbalists are well respected in the communities for their knowledge of this ancient art and the people are greatful for their healing services, Alchemists are treated with anger and disrespect. People see them as someone that uses the plants and herbs with an unorthodox and corrupted way, to create toxic and destructive substances. I created an asset to go with this theme. I'd love to hear your opinion and feedback.

Shawn Tomkin Well, I can't recall if I asked this thing before.

Shawn Tomkin Well, I can't recall if I asked this thing before... However, let's take this example: I roll a 3 on the d6, then 4 and 9 on the d10s. When you say "reroll any dice" in rules and assets, you mean that: - I can choose just 1 die, and reroll it. In the example, I could then try to reroll the 3, or maybe the 9. - I can choose any of the dice, and reroll them. So I could choose all three of them; or maybe keeping the 4, and reroll the 3 and the 9. Which one is correct?

Related to a previous post.

Related to a previous post... I think that another cool Asset we could add is "Solitary". Something especially useful for solo play, with an accent on the loner hero cliché. Maybe, it could be nice to play "destroying" standard moves, with fiction requirements like "When you are on your own, with no communities you can count on..." or "every time you worsen a bond, making your relation more tense..." or "When you let an ally of yours suffering a bad fortune in your place..." Sure, they could seem too grumpy for certain campaigns, still I feel they can be gold with certain Sword & Sorcery feelings. What do you think, can you suggest me some complete Asset moves based on that?

What do you think of this asset?

What do you think of this asset? I'm playing as a fishing boat captain, and I wanted some mechanical reflection of their expertise with boats and the sea: Sailor (Path Asset) * When you Undertake a Journey by boat you are in your element. Add +1 and take +1 momentum on a hit o When you Gather Information or Secure an Advantage using your knowledge of tides, weather, boats or coastlines add +1 o When you Make Camp moored or at anchor you may take an additional +1 on your chosen action on a weak hit, or on two of your three chosen actions on a strong hit.

Hey everyone!

Hey everyone! I want to start by thanking the creators behind this awesome game. I'm new to tabletop gaming and I've been jumping from system to system looking for something that clicks for me, and I finally found it with Ironsworn! The separation of mechanics and narrative and how they interact, especially when playing as a solo gamer like myself, is brilliant! I have a fictional world that I brainstormed for days, coming up with locations, lore, factions, races, etc, and ironsworn works perfectly because of how flexible it is. Speaking of which, I'm looking for suggestions on something. My current character is a dragoness in a high-magic world. Dragons, vampires, elves, gods, and otherwise magical entities are the norm. I've been having trouble changing the assets to fit this, for example, the dragons in this world are incapable of wielding weapons, instead relying on elemental breath or talons and fangs, how should I create assets to reflect this? The ritual system a...

Hi, I have an idea what could make Ironsworn even better game than it is now: another kind of progress track and corresponding set of moves, named “Social challenges” or something in this style. At the moment, we have 4 kinds of progress tracks: for iron vows, journeys, battles and bonds. Excluding the last one which has different purposes, these are three things in Ironsworn that have various challenge ranks, from “troublesome” to “epic”. But what about social challenges? Sure, there is “Compel” move. The problem is that making this move has always the same chance of success, regardless if you are trying to compel a farmer or a chieftain. So I propose to introduce a progress track for social challenges, and the challenge rank (all possibilities, ranging from “troublesome” to “epic”) would depend on three things: 1. The difference between the social status of player’s character and his/her debater. It’s much more difficult to persuade or intimidate the tribal chieftain than poor farmer...

One thing I'm passionate about are animals.

One thing I'm passionate about are animals. Another, myths and legends. So I thought I'd try my hand at making some animal based enemies one may find out in the Ironlands. Figure I could stop lurking and maybe put some ideas of my own to paper. Any ideas of what people would like to see are welcome, currently I've been looking at beasts Vikings may have seen/would have lived in the Scandanavian lands. Justin Gordon Shawn Tomkin

Justin Gordon Shawn Tomkin Hey guys, Finished a session with Lysa and Justin a while ago and had an interesting thought. I was discussing a possible mechanic of cashing in assets for replacements. I had realized I liked being a duelist more than an archer, and proposed if it was possible to "trade in" an asset in exchange for enough experience to train an asset you already have, i.e. setting my arching ways aside to further develop my dual-weapon arts. Let me know what you guys think. --- Lucas

Actually, I'm finding difficulties on my play.

Actually, I'm finding difficulties on my play. They are related to the Supplies, the various moves linked to, and the fiction. In short: I can totally understand the abstract inventory/supplies. Also, I like it, as I liked the similar mechanics in DUngeon Worlds (ammo, adventurer's pack etc.) However, I'm not sold about the choice of the Out of Supply move (pag. 98). "When your supply is exhausted (reduced to 0), mark unprepared.... ...The unprepared debility can be cleared when you score a hit on the Sojourn move... ...While you are unprepared, you cannot increase your supply track." So, is this totally intended? Let's say I did a part of a journey. I went to 0 Supply. Now I cannot make any move to try to resupply, even just a little... So I can't Hunt, for example. If I have no near places to Sojourn (or I do the move, and I fail, for example - and, by the rules I CAN'T retry that move, in a whole "period" of time), I'm totally doomed. ...

This is entirely premature, but it's fun to think and talk about, so let's do it anyway.

Image
This is entirely premature, but it's fun to think and talk about, so let's do it anyway. My plan/hope after I get Ironsworn sorted is to start work on a compendium of alternate settings and supporting mechanics. The working title is "Ironsworn Worlds". I am undecided if this is a series of mini-supplements under the "Worlds" banner, or a collected compendium, or both. This would include mild alternations to moves and mechanics to support different settings and genres. For example, it'll have rules for introducing vehicles as a sub-character with its own assets. Each World would include info similar to what I do for the Ironlands in the core book (regions, NPCs, your truths, maybe some custom oracles, etc.). Assets for each would be provided as separate downloads. My thoughts on what to include changes almost daily, but I've got some notes on the following: * Gritty, spacebound adventures in the maelstrom, a region of chaotic space inhabited by outcast...

Hi gang, I just found this on Drive throughRPG and would just like to say well done to Shawn for thinking about the solo player and how to entertain them. I have not tried out the gameplay as yet, but I do like the artwork that I have seen so far. Do you plan to add more fantasy races / creatures to the mix at a later date ? I have seen elves but no Dwarf folk (unless I have missed them on my quick flick through of the rules.) Regards all, Ivor

Hi!

Hi! If you want, I could translate the Rulebook to spanish (I've to translate the moves and assets for some friends either way). How about it? :)

I think I found a rules contradiction?

I think I found a rules contradiction? Page 45 (preview 7): "Companions can be killed. If your companion is killed, give yourself 1 experience point for each marked ability (see experience, below). Then, remove the asset. If you acquire the same type of companion through the narrative of your quest and journeys, you are free to rebuy the asset at the normal cost." Page 95: "If your companion is killed, set aside the asset. If you acquire the same type of companion through the story of your quest and journeys, you may buy that asset and any existing upgrades again for 1 less experience (rebuy the asset for 2 experience, and upgrades for 1 experience each). This reflects your familiarity working with a particular type of companion." So one rule gives you an experience rebate, which can be spent on other assets, while the other rule gives you no experience but lets you rebuy the asset at a discount. Which is correct?

I've updated the Ironsworn Oracles collection with tables for each type of Foe (Ironlander/Firstborn/etc) if you need to choose randomly, as well as a weighted master table that will produce a completely random foe based on some probability (the Ironlander Raider or Wolf is most common, the Leviathan and Primordial are least common). Here's a link to the new table, and it's available in the collection I've posted previously as well. If you try it out, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know how you feel about the weighting and whether the foes you expect emerge from the charts at roughly the right rate! https://chartopia.d12dev.com/en/chart/2031/ https://chartopia.d12dev.com/en/chart/2031/

While I was playing my Solo game, I started with only 2 (randomly chosen) Assets (Companion - Raven, and Ritual - Visage). I also randomized almost everything of my character, because... hey, why not? I decided that I would choose the 3rd Asset after a while, when I had a better vision of the character, a sort of short term advancement. I had lot of "stealthy" moments, and I'm playing as a female teenager, running away from a marriage she doesn't want. Sure, I had some tense moment with my dagger, however now I'm ready to choose my 3rd Asset. Now, I was searching for a "Thief" or a "Virgin" Asset, but I didn't find something like that. The closest one is "Shadow Walk" Asset, re-painted with a not-supernatural taste, for the "Thief". But, for a Hero with a pure soul, doing things with charisma, or with an adorable natural behavior, or a "victim that must be protected" aura, I found nothing. Maybe, a good start f...

I get a ton of visitors to the Ironsworn website from Brazil (second only to the US), and I'm wondering where it's all coming from. Is there a thriving RPG community in Brazil? Do I need to see about doing a Portuguese translation of Ironsworn? In any case, muito obrigado!

Wardens!

Wardens! It appears that I'm setting up a game of Ironsworn this Friday around 1pm EST over Roll20/Hangouts. If anyone else is interested in venturing into the wilds of the Ironlands with us I can accomodate one or two more adventurers (any more and our supplies will be spread too thin on such a dangerous journey!) I know not what trials we shall face, but I know that with stalwart companions by your side either victory or defeat will be a tale sung through the Ages!

Some setting thoughts on a sci-fi Ironsworn.

Some setting thoughts on a sci-fi Ironsworn. It's very high-level, but I wanted to create the same kind of scarcity and low-population density that makes the Ironlands work so well for the kind of stories Ironsworn does so well. I'm hoping to explore it soon with a few Vows to test out the Roles rules.

Just sharing this relevant post from Ken Hubbard in the Lone Wolf community. Some great questions. Originally shared by Ken Hubbard A question about Ironsworn moves.... I'm still reading through this book. It's really interesting and I can't wait to play. I've been mulling over possible play situations in my head while driving, etc. and I want to clear up some of my confusion before I get around to playing. But before posting the question, I just want to say this is a beautifully produced document. The black and white photos are great, the writing is clear and tight, it's well-organized with lots of white space, etc. So, good job to the creator. Now, the issue I'm having is trying to better understand the difference between Face Danger and Secure an Advantage . The big thing seems to be FD is reactive, while SaA is proactive. I'm thinking of situations where you want to take away an advantage of the opponent. Which move is that? Examples: if an op...

Hi!

Hi! I was thinking about (slowly :D) translating Ironsworn in italian (with your permission, of course) but, aside from your blessing, I would ask if you keep the versioning of the books so that in case of new version, one can see the changes without re-reading everything. Thanks and keep on the good job!!

Hey guys, me again.

Hey guys, me again. I was also interested in trying to run a guided/coop campaign on roll20 if anyone would be interested. I would prefer to play instead of gm just to get a grasp of the rules. If anyone is interested, please hit me up. ___Lucas

Hey guys, Lucas here.

Hey guys, Lucas here. I've been interested in running a solo campaign for myself, but I'm having trouble understanding what to do in most situations. For example, when my wife and I tried to play today, we were walking along one of the barrier islands coastline to (hopefully) find a settlement, so I said we needed to undertake a journey, but at the same time, how do I journey somewhere that may not even be there? I don't know if we'll find a settlement or not. Also, if you guys could help me with condensing the rulebook down, like a pdf of just the Oracle table and the like, that would help me so much. Thanks in advance, Lucas.

Supply Tracks

Supply Tracks So if you're playing with a group does everyone's supply track move in tandem? Not quite clear on how that works, but I think I'm getting everything else. (Bonus question: Should there be a Rules choice for posts here in the G+ group?)

I've pulled up my old blog and restarted it so that I can record my solo campaign. Check it out here:

I spent some time tonight thinking about different methods of handling conflict in Ironsworn, influenced by other PbtA games that I've played. I doubt there's anything really new or original here, but it might be helpful for people that haven't played a PbtA game before! Also, I realized that I'd like to have a place to keep all of my Ironsworn related thoughts in one place, so I created The Ironsworn Diaries to keep my AP reports and musings on rules mods and stuff (it's easier than digging through old G+ posts when I'm trying to find something I'd said :P) Lastly, do we think there's any market for an Ironsworn Discord group or something? A way for community members to communicate in realtime, set up games and stuff? (I'm just a sucker for discord) https://ironsworndiaries.blogspot.com/2018/04/snipers-sneak-attacks-handling-conflict.html

I've possibly got a game coming up that's going to take place in a magitechnical Aztec society (all of the sacrifices and bloodshed power an almost futuristic society, but all of the tech is magic). My group has suggested using Ironsworn to play it, and I'll be honest I just have no idea what kind of Assets and such I should bring to the table to make it a reality. Any thoughts gang?

Shawn Tomkin Here's the playlist link to the Extended play example. Listening to it I can tell that there's some spots where the audio wasn't great (we were sharing a mic and pretty far apart). It was my first try at playing a game live on camera, so it's a bit shaky, lol. Hopefully though it helps people who have questions with seeing how to (or at least the way that I) play Ironsworn. If you'd like to sticky this playlist that's great, but I'm hoping to have something with a little better presentation available soon! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnqDgLQGJJB_vMVyTUxJfD8rq2C06mv_x https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnqDgLQGJJB_vMVyTUxJfD8rq2C06mv_x

While I'm waiting for the rest of the play example to upload, I decided to work on a different tool to help the community play Ironsworn. I have converted the Oracles from the core book into rollable tables through Chartopia, and created a few new tables that use the existing tables to generate interesting play material. To really get a feel for what these tables can do I recommend testing the "Ironsworn Settlement Generator" it combines data from Oracles 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 to randomly generate an entire steading with a single click. Shawn Tomkin these are available pending your blessing as it uses material from the core book. If you say it goes then I'll make it disappear immediately. https://chartopia.d12dev.com/en/collection/50/ https://chartopia.d12dev.com/en/collection/50/

Just hit 300 members in the G+ Ironsworn community! That's super exciting. Everyone freeze. No one leaves! I've also had 800 downloads of the rulebook via DriveThruRPG in 3 days. I have no idea how good that is in the grand scheme of things, but it's about 1/3 of the total downloads through my site over 1 year (much of which was return visitors), so I'm excited and happy. I have zero social media presence, so it's all thanks to others sharing the word. Thank you!

Hey guys!

Hey guys! Just got Ironsworn and I was wondering if there is any roll20 or fillable sheet in the works, as I am currently living in a place where I can't really make use of printers and I'm dying to try this one out. Thanks!

I've added the 'Your Truths' content from Chapter 4 of Ironsworn as a downloadable handout. This will make it easier to mark up your choices. For each category, I've also added a fill-in-the-blanks option to add your own truth. Thanks to Deathworks DW for the reminder! https://drive.google.com/open?id=1xXH6XJghCNl56nmyy2E3skymFRpUTWLS

The first part of an extended play example for Ironsworn with Lysa Clarke is posting on Youtube as I write! The whole session is done, but I'm uploading it in 30 minute chunks to make it a little easier to render on my system. The whole thing should be up by tomorrow afternoon sometime. I know from listening to it that there are a few awkward pauses and it may not make for the best listening. We definitely had fun making it though, and hope it helps people with any lingering Ironsworn questions. Please let me know what you think, good or bad so that I can make the next one better!! https://youtu.be/eSmtF8lf9QI https://youtu.be/eSmtF8lf9QI

Leveraging newfound abilities and rites, Branwhyn is able to bring negotiations with White Tree to a close but he is drawn deeper into the growing conflict with Brambelhall and must Enter the Circle against an old foe. Part 2 of Chapter 13 - Drawing Circles As always, thank you to those who read these stories. I hope they are enjoyabe and inspire. Hello!

Hello! I am having a question about the downloads at the official site. The rule book states on page 123 that the Your Truths section is available as a separate handout at the download section for filling it out. However, I somehow can't find that download. Having such a handout could be neat for setting up a campaign. Yours, Deathworks

Bondsman (Companion Asset)

Bondsman (Companion Asset) You have a dedicated (human) follower of some kind. Name:_ ________________ Profession:_ ________________ o Sworn: when you endure harm in their presence, your companion endures harm for you instead. Rely on the fiction to decide if this is plausible. o Skilled: when you rely on your companion's professional skills and judgement in some task, add +1. o Devoted: when you test your spirit in the company of your bondsman, add +1 and take +1 momentum on a hit. 0 +1 +2 +3 +4 +5

How have people been dealing with nested vows (swearing a vow to make progress on an existing vow)?

How have people been dealing with nested vows (swearing a vow to make progress on an existing vow)? I have a character in a situation where a dangerous vow would be progressed by forging a bond , but they will probably have to swear a formidable vow to get that bond. Mechanically it feels untidy to have the nested quest be bigger than the outside one, even though the fiction holds up, and I am going to go with it regardless. I am just curious.

I originally saw this post shared to the Lone Wolf Roleplaying group, but dang, this sounds like something which could be handy for Ironsworn, if a custom table were to be made for the Hex Describe system: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+BenMilton2/posts/ZpQeZ7v4onn

The next installment of Kreetan's adventures.

The next installment of Kreetan's adventures. In this episode: Kreetan squares off against one of the raiders and hunts for a sea beastie to try and get the last part of the medicine required for Katania. The two raiders are still alive. One, Bevan, is still somewhat groggy. Morgaz, the other, is quite upset at having been bested by Kreetan. Both the raiders are still quite young. Morgaz claims that his capture was underhanded, and so challenges Kreetan to a ritual combat to settle the matter. Kreetan is not particularly keen, but the villagers seem to feel that this would be a fair way to decide who is correct in this claim. Accordingly, Kreetan reluctantly agrees to draw the circle that evening (1+3 vs 10,1 [weak hit] - Spirit, because Kreetan is not reallyy keen to fight). In preparation, Kreetan goes to have a nap, and attempt to bind some of the scratches and scrapes ( sojourn : 5+3 vs 5,10 [weak hit]: recuperate (+2 health)). As the sun begins to set, the circle is drawn. Kr...

Returned from the Shadow Lands with no memory of the journey, Branwhyn soon reaches an impasse in his negotiations with White Tree and must seek the aid of the Witch who lives nearby. This one has taken forever to get edited, life has been hectic. It was also getting long, so I cut it up into two pieces. Hi hello!

Hi hello! I've been looking at Ironsworn for a while now, and today finally got a chance to play together with my wife. It was fun! Here is a playtest report: Our characters: I play as Maveth [ Shield-bearer, Honorbound, Wright: Ironsmith ]. Maveth grew up in a settlement in the Tempest Hills called Frostcoming Cross, situated at the mouth of the easiest path down the Veils. Many of those who would come down for the winters would pass through the town. One day, when she was an adolescent, a massive army, well trained and well equipped appeared as if out of nowhere and tore through the town, slaughtering and destorying all. The local Warden gave his life to protect Maveth, and she escaped the carnage with nothing but the very shield that saved her life. When she reached another settlement, none spoke of any signs of an army. They did not believe her tale. None of the other settlements she visited encountered this army, and though Frostcoming was indeed gone, no evidence of an army r...

I know there's an extended play example in the book, but are there any YouTube videos or podcast episodes of some example gameplay? That would be pretty cool - and helpful to those of us still wrapping our head around everything.

Some updates to the Ironsworn PDF this week, which I've uploaded today.

Some updates to the Ironsworn PDF this week, which I've uploaded today. Typo fixes, some very minor updates to a couple of moves, and some tweaks to a handful of assets. Much thanks to all those who rolled a strong hit on their "Find Shawn's Dumb Goofs" move. There are more issues to find and fix, so if you spot an error please let me know. The feedback form is here: https://goo.gl/3xB925 Change log here: https://goo.gl/narvDM As always, you can find the latest downloads at the website ( http://ironswornrpg.com ). For folks who prefer to manage their PDF library at DrivethruRPG, I am waiting on approval and should have the file up there in a couple of days. I am also starting to prep for the POD version, which will be available from Drivethru. One note: the hyperlinks within the PDF, including cross-references and the index, don't always work. Some are fine. Some are broken. I haven't been able to troubleshoot this problem, but am aware of it. When the PDF is...
