I have a playtest/preview package for the Ironsworn Delve supplement available here: http://bit.ly/Try-Delve (Google drive folder) What is Delve? It is a supplement for site-based exploration. When your sworn vows take you into deep caverns, perilous forests, mysterious ruins, baneful bogs, or forgotten underkeeps, break out this supplement. The new moves, mechanics, oracles, and denizens plug directly into your Ironsworn campaign. The preview includes: - Chapter 1 and 2 of the rulebook - Moves reference sheet - Theme and domain cards - Site worksheet - Aspect and Focus Oracles What it doesn't include, but is planned for the final version: - New NPCs/denizens - More oracles - Various other bits of content - Editing, proofreading, design, polish, etc. Needless to say, things are a work-in-progress. Here's a technique to pace the threats inherent to a journey into the wilds. If you are leaving a settled place and heading into perilous lands, you can use your journey progress track as guide to the ranks of the threats you will face. The further you delve, the greater the danger. The amount of progress you've marked on your journey sets the rank of your foes and the severity of the outcome for failure (see the illustration, attached). 0-3: Dangerous 4-7: Formidable 8-0: Extreme For example, I leave a village and head off for the deep woods. On my second journey roll, on the outskirts of the woods, I score a miss. I decide I encounter a fast-moving river that I must ford. I am at 2 progress, so this will be a dangerous threat. I Face Danger to get across, but score a miss. Per the rank of the threat, I suffer 2 harm as I loose my footing and get bashed against some rocks in the freezing water. A few segments of my journey later, I am now deep in the wilds with 8 progress. Unf...

If you like the idea of taking your character on a quest for redemption, here's an asset I'd like to include in volume 3. You may only add this to your character once you have Forsaken a Vow, so it's not accessible for starting characters. Your reputation as an oath-breaker and your own self-doubts will add hardship to your struggles, so this asset counts as a debility. It will reduce your max momentum and reset. As many of you know, Google has announced that G+ will be shutting down in the Summer of 2019. It's a huge bummer, because Ironsworn wouldn't exist without the feedback and support you (the members of the community) have provided. It's truly been a pleasure and a privilege to watch this community grow. As I've noted previously, I'm not in a huge hurry to close the doors. I will continue to monitor and post here until Google turns out the lights. That said, I am painfully aware that the conversations and content we create have a limited shelf life. So, for this post, I'd like to have an open discussion about where -- if anywhere -- to put a semi-official community hub for Ironsworn. It greatly weakens its victims but doesn't generally kill them. But it does damage their minds - they lose the ability to speak, and to understand most symbols. Some say they become nascent horrors, but this is far from confirmed. My character doesn't believe it. The overseer is one of those infected, and it's not helping the circle avoid turmoil, that's for sure. • Unearthed ruins. My imagination leapt to sea caves along a forbidding shore, and the Ironlands have a region like that, the Ragged Coast. In one of them, a vessel of unfamiliar design, with bodies which released the silence plague. • A vision. Ironsworn's game setup process has character creation before world creation, but I find it easier to do the other way around. The world generally draws out characters for me. So here goes. You get a bunch of questions about the setting as it'll be for this series, each with three suggested answers, each with a quest hook, and space to insert your own. I'm going to go with a mix of the provided options, to see what comes out. 1. The Old World. Ironsworn is set in a harsh land to which characters' ancestors fled a couple generations ago. Why'd that happen? Lessee...yeah, I'm good with a plague. "The sickness moved like a horrible wave across the Old World, killing all in its path. Thousands fled aboard ships. However, the plague could not be outrun. On many ships, the disease was contained through ruthless measures—tossing overboard any who exhibited the slightest symptom. Other ships ...

Ironsworn ticked over to the Electrum Bestseller level on DriveThruRPG over the holiday weekend. Thanks everyone! That is 250+ copies of the print version. I had set a personal goal of 200 for this year, so vow fulfilled a few weeks early! And now the slow march to gold level. An epic journey, to be sure. Here's an outline of materials currently planned or in-development at the Ironsworn forges. Things may (and probably will!) change. I do have some other settings I want to explore, and I am hoping that what you see here gives me a solid base for other worlds and genres. I'd love to hear what official or unofficial material you want to see.

The Ironsworn Lodestar pay-what-you-want reference guide is no longer available on DriveThruRPG for some reason. No idea why. Just noticed it was gone when I went to buy a personal copy. Hopefully it'll get sorted soon, because I know there's at least one person (me) trying to buy it.
