In Sickness and in Health :- Part 2
The Settlement of Greenwick
Before my Husband left Greenwick he spoke of the Hinterlands . A rich forrested area teaming with life during the warmer months , yet cold and arrid during winter .We were hardened , we could deal with harsh winters , and with plenty of game to hunt and protection from invaders from the high ground , surely it was a better place to settle than the harsh flooded plains . I will head North , my Husband will be there somewhere , I just have to find him somehow . I will sneak away from the Settlement .... Tonight!
Settlement Escape:-
Our home was not much . A large tent like structure made with animal hides and local timber , but it was warm , dry and our home, yet here i was preparing to leave ! Still , with my Husband in the Hinterlands and my son in the next life , it was just me and Kodroth .
Kodroth was a pup , when Nadira found him on a hunt . He was near death , shivering , pathetic , abandoned by his mother. Or maybe she had succumbed to the harsh wilderness somehow .
Nadira brought him home . We fed him , gave him a home and he grew into a fine wolf willing to protect us all . Nadira thought it best to leave him with me when he left , to protect me and our son from any invaders or attackers . But now it was just me left .... Our son no longer with us ....
I packed a bag with usual supplys , veg , bandages , some herbal remedies and water . I put on my hunting armour made from the finest hides and my short sword . There i waited for the sun to go down and the village to fall sleepy , nervously peeking through the hide doorway . As the early hours of the morning approached and only a few settlement Nightwatchmen patrolling , now was the time .

Wow combat is brutal ! Leela and Kodroth had a fight with a pack of Marsh Rats and it didnt go too well tbh . When i get time i will write up Part 3 and possibly 4 if i get that far .
ReplyDeleteGonna rerun the combat phase , missed out a few modifiers etc so it was much harsher than it should have been . Still, nailbiting stuff!
