So I hope this appropriate for the "Discussion" tag. Just kind of wanted to check in, shoot the ... well you know, see how everyone was doing, and maybe give an update on myself. I haven't been able to play any lately. Yeah, I know, sad face. I went on a cruise, came home and almost immediately got the flu. Fought that off and finally got well enough to return to work where I have been swamped playing catch up. I really want to get back to Ironsworn, but to be honest, I kind of lost interest in my previous AP. I mean, I really liked it, but I guess due to the extended break... I guess it happens. Anyway, how are you lot?

Free time has been a rare commodity lately, and I may be without Internet tomorrow as my ISP are coming out to do some work on the lines, but I wanted to get something done with Nikkel... so what little time I had I played a little... a very little, but a new small/short session post is up on the wiki. Dumb question, because I have the rules at home and could wait to look, but is there anyway to advance progress against a foe without Stirke or Clash? Maybe before 'Enter the Fray'? One day I'm really going to have to do a journey, combat, etc. flow chart of these moves and outcomes.

Working on another session and a rules question came up. I took advantage of "Turn The Tide" and it says to add +1, I am assuming to the next Move. My next Move is "End The Fight". I just added +1 to the Progression. Does this sound right, or at least feasible? Or is it just for other non-Progress Moves?

It was bad. Really bad. Hence I gave this session the name, "Chamber of Missteps." Interesting discovery about the rules though. I mean I could have probably mitigated it better, but didn't want to contradict the narrative that came to mind while playing! Session link in the normal places on the wiki. Okay, I need some help, and yes I am trying to break it again... So I started working on my character sheet for Steel Caskets, where I wanted to play a character like the one in G.I. Combat's "Haunted Tank" graphic novel. The main character in it is a tank commander by the name of Jeb Stuart, an ancestor of the Civil War General, General Stuart. General Stuart's ghost comes to Jeb and helps him throughout the war, and since Jeb talks to a ghost, they all think it haunted... Anyway, while coming up with a character for the tank commander in a World War 2 Stuart tank, I got to thinking... This has been done, and though I really liked reading The Haunted Tank as a kid, I don't want to do the same thing over again. I want something different, so I took the idea of a haunted tank literally, and started running with it... Basically I want The Tank to be the character and the crew to be Companions! I think it has unlimited possibilities, though I admit I may be wrong, bu...

If anyone actually follows my HZD:HEZ AP, be assured it will be continued, probably this evening in fact as I hope to get another session in tonight. I have been working on a new Character and Assets for a WW2 tank crew AP though that I want to run as well, inspired by the graphic novel; G.I. Combat's Haunted Tank. I will probably run them in tandem so sessions my be slower coming than I'd like, if you fancy one over the other. I was hoping to finish the main vow in HEZ first, before starting the WW2 game, but dang if Jeremiah Wenneker didn't force my hand with his recent post of the S.M.S Ironsworn! Too cool not to!

Session 09: Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble, is up. Sitting waiting on the work network to come online and my thoughts circle around to Ironsworn... I have been thinking of modding another solo rules set I bought recently to fit a genre I want to solo play in. I got to thinking what would I have to mod in Ironsworn to do the same genre. Which brought me to Assets, of course. Now as an Ironsworn and PbtA newb in general, Assets are new to me. I am familiar with FATE and Stunts, so was thinking, "Could we come up with a Mad Libs type of Asset creator for them like FATE does with Stunts?" Thoughts?

It's just too hard to get the formating right. I've messed with Wikis since college, so it kind of comes naturally to me. Another session down. I feel better about this one, but to not second guess this feeling I didn't proof read, so there may be all forms of mistakes. I also went very loose on the screen play format, and think I might drop it entirely. I just finished reading another great write up, and it has me thinking, which in turn has me soliciting some input. All the play tests that I have been reading are awesome, and seem to be... progressing faster per 'session'. They seem to be about the same length or word count, but so much more seems to happen in them. What am I missing? I just get the feeling now that my play through is kinda... lame or boring. Is it? Honestly. I'm enjoying it, but I haven't really felt any... action, since the initial Scrapper encounter. IDK, just a thought and maybe just a funk I am in. Happy New Years by the way!

I had a rules question, for clarity, during this session (below). But before that, an imaged link because apparently, based on statistics, more people read things with pics. ;) So a new session! Yay. Not a long one because I am fighting a migraine. Oh, the question: During an Undertake A Journey it reads, as an option, "You make good use of your resources: Do not suffer -1 Supply." Three scenes, a lot more RP happened in my head than I wrote. It took long enough to get down the gist of what was transpiring in my head as it was. May not be to everyone's liking, but I enjoyed it. I really liked that this part of a normal FtF game is still functional. Inter-monologues are... strange. El Oh El Let me know what you think. Again, constructive criticism is appreciated. An hour into another session. Where will Ironsworn take Nikkel and I this evening!? I'm pretty excited, but the dice have me knee deep into some RP (which is awesome) and it takes a bit to type up thanks to the format I chose to try and write in. So, is anyone else knee deep in it at the moment? ;)

OMG!! I had hit a hurdle when the Oracle threw a couple terms at me that I liked but didn't know how to incorporate, so I took awhile away from it. When I came back, still at a loss, I asked the Oracle for more guidance... It came in spades!!! Not a lot of action this session, but the story just... BLEW UP! And here I sit at 3 AM, just finishing the write-up and probably still too excited to go to bed! But I need your help. Take a look at the latest session and let me know what types of Vows you think Nikkel should make. There are so many options ... I have some ideas, but even for the ones I have, I don't know what Progression level they should be. Some decisions, some twists, and a plethora of dice rolling. The Oracles came in handy and drove this post, and in surprising ways. Definitely didn't end up where I imagined when I sat down for this session! I had some questions at the start, see my Post here entitled "Guide Me G+ Oracle", and I appreciate all the feedback and suggestions provided! Funny thing is, with the Ironsworn Oracles and my woeful dice rolling fate took control and I haven't been able to implement the suggestions... yet! As always, let me know what you think!
