Join in the fun of a progressive solo play of Ironsworn during the month of November for #SGAM2018!
I've put a bunch of resources up on the Google Group created to track this Ironsworn game, and we're pretty much ready for November 1, just finishing some of the guidelines for play. If you'd like to hang out with us, jump in early to claim your spot during the event! You can join by clicking the following link, and then clicking the 'Contact Owner...' link (see pic attached). In your response email, simply type the name of the designer of Ironsworn {coughShawncoughTomkincough}, and I'll know it's not spam (and that you have read the rules, so you likely know how to play, or are at least willing to learn on-the-fly)! I'll then send you an invite which will allow you to enter the group properly.

Thanks, everyone!
Shawn Tomkin We're just about ready with the play rules. I'm thinking we'll lock it down by Saturday next week (27th), and that should give you a chance to look them over before working on the character etc. we'll be using. You're still up for that, yes? Please join the above group, as well, so we're all communicating effectively. ;)
ReplyDeleteAlso, feel free to play the game with us, if you have the time!
What's a progressive solo play?
ReplyDeleteChristo Meid Glad you asked. It's the best quick name I could think of. You know how progressive dinner parties work, where everyone in a neighborhood makes a dish at their own homes, then they all get together at one house, eat/drink/chat, then mozy on to the next house for another dish, and so on until all the homes have been visited? It's kind of like that.
ReplyDeleteOne person will frame the character and the world and vows and incidents (as a GM would). Then the players take progressive turns to play a "chapter" in the story. At the end of each turn/chapter, players fully annotate their turn in actual play (AP) notes in a shared area so the next player understands what's going on, then the next player takes over. Play doesn't return the the players, it just goes on in a series of plays. If the last player in the series feels there's more story to tell/game to play, they leave it open and previous players have a chance to go again if they wish.
Hi, Dan Davis. Cool! I'll jump in this week.
