For the Wildblood path, how should I understand the terms woodcraft, woodland creatures, and forest? On a more restrictive read, it sounds like it might apply to any adventures in the Deep Wilds, and occasionally something else. Basically, it'd only apply when surrounded by trees, and then only while doing the actions specified (tracking, hiding, etc.)

On a more expansive interpretation you could read it as applying to anything in the wilds / outside of civilization. So while gathering information using woodcraft, you'd take +1 so long as you aren't in a settlement, a farm, etc. If you can face danger by hiding in the wilds, you'd also get a bonus. This seems more in line with the restrictions that other paths have, but I'm not positive this was what you envisioned.

What was your intention for the path?

  1. "Tracking" = generally applicable to any situation where you are tracking
"Woodcraft" = Relating to survival in and knowledge of woodland (forested) areas
"Woodland creatures" = animals and beasts which dwell in forested areas

The broad intent is for this path to be useful in forested/woodland areas, not necessarily just when away from civilization. For example, when clambering up the perilous paths high above the tree line in the Veils, your affinity for the forests is not doing you much good.

Note that there are forests outside of the Deep Wilds. The Hinterlands are completely forested. Even the Havens are full of untamed woodlands. So, depending on how you describe/frame the character's travels, it can be pretty broadly useful.
