Can somebody explain to me how the Sojourn move works?
I don't get it. Why you need to roll twice?

  1. When the move says "focus on opne of your chosen recover" it means Clear a Condition, Recover and Provide Aid or the sub-options like Mend, Hearten, Equip?

The +2 more of that action means you do that Mend action 2 other times?

Meaning you could recover +3 Health instead of +1 on a strong hit on this second check?

  2. When the move says "focus on one of your chosen recover action" does that imply that you lose benefit from your second choice?

  3. It's a little tough at first, but basically it goes like this:

On a strong hit you can choose any 2 of the options as applicable (though only once each). On a weak hit, you may choose 1 option (plus an extra if you have a bond with the person or community).

The second roll is a high risk/high reward part of the move that is entirely optional. So you don't need to roll twice, but you can if you want to get extra points.

Say you're at 0 health, and you roll a strong hit. Now of course you pick recuperate, which gives you 2 health, and then grab consort and provision to raise your spirit and supply respectively.

Now, if you wanted, you could elect to focus on recuperate and roll +Heart again in order to gain an extra +2 health which would bring you up to a respectable 4 health. Of course on a weak hit, it's only +1 extra, but that's still nice. The catch is that if you miss, you lose all benefits from that action and remain at 0 health.

  4. Hmm ok. And does the statement "If you share a bond, choose 1 more" applies only to weak hit or to weak and strong?

  5. With a bond, choose one more on either a strong hit or weak hit, Addramyr Palinor.

  6. Addramyr Palinor Your choices are the sub actions, such as Mend etc. However, you would only choose Mend if you had the wounded debility, otherwise you'd choose Recuperate.

I do not believe you lose the benefit of your second choice if you choose to roll on your focused action.
